I figured last night's heavy and prolonged rain could bring in some birds, but I didn't have a chance to bird this morning. I'd started birding around my house in West Kendall around 5:45pm. Although the shear number of birds present came nowhere near last week's big fallout (when every ficus seemed to have it's own warbler flock), they happened to be concentrated in and around my yard!
I added 5 species to my yard list, Gray-cheeked and Swainson's Thrushes, Blue-winged and Bay-breasted Warblers, and Scarlet Tanager. Other warblers and a lot of Catbirds were also present. Still needed for my yard list is Eastern Wood-Pewee. Several were present down the street and around the corner, but none for my yard list.
I also keep a Hammocks area list. Blue-winged Warbler was also new for that, and is the 30th warbler species I've seen in the area.
A Chimney Swift that flew over late in the day looked very odd with a red sun tone.
