The La Sagra's Flycatcher was seen this morning at the south end of the nature trail as Robin reports. While watching the bird today it called 22 times in the ~20 minutes that the bird stayed in the nature trail area. It then flew off into the restricted trail and called several more times as it moved farther away.
A Brown-crested Flycatcher was a surprise on the lightouse trail. It called two loud "whit" calls from inside a seagrape, then while trying to get a clear shot through the leaves I flushed the bird. It flew out of the lighouse trail towards the seawall, lost it as it flew over the tree line. Migrant numbers are low around the park but still managed pic up a Louisianna Waterthrush near the hill at the start of the nature trail as well as a Cape May Warbler. A couple of singing Prairie Warblers along with an Ovenbird that let out a little teacher teach then quit when it realized it is still in Miami :)
Nature is Awesome
