The picture doesn't do the bird justice, but I'll keep looking to see if I can do a better ID on it. My view was more of a cinnamon or rufous color on the back & wings. When we flushed it, it was on the ground. I guess the wingspan was close to 18" and I didn't see any white in it's long tail. It was larger than the Whip-poor will I had out at my place a couple of months ago.
