I had the opportunity to get excellent views of a White-tailed kite (aka Black-shouldered kite) today in the East Everglades. Throughout the day, I saw it several times in the same area.

To get to the same location, travel west on SW 168 St from Krome Ave. Go six miles. At the stop sign (SW 237 Ave) turn left and drive south 2-3 miles. It was perched in various dead casurania trees and then hunted over the prairie on both sides of the road. Good luck.
