It is amazing how quickly a Cooper's Hawk can clear the entire yard of birds! At 0830 this a.m. I decided to go into the backyard to see what was there. Not a bird was in sight. I carefully walked below the Avocado and there perched like a statue was a Cooper's Hawk. I ran inside to get my camera but upon my return the bird was gone. Upon walking around the house not a single bird was seen/heard. No dove feathers were noted in circular formation on the ground, so maybe I scared the hawk off before he could obtain his favorite breakfast. Now two hours later once again twitterings/activities of birds abound. My yard has come alive once again!
