: : Brian Rapoza and I left the Barnes walk early in order to chase the Thick-billed Vireo on Boot Key. We found Mark Hedden and 2 other birders there. After looking for a bit around a flock of birds near the bridge, we decided to walk down to the location Larry had marked. There was not much activity away from the bridge other than Cardinals and Red-bellied Woodpeckers (and an occasional hawk overhead) as we passed pole 13 and the markers. We continued on since it had also been seen further down. A couple of Swainson's Thrushes feeding on Poisonwood berries inspired to continue to the intersection. Near the interesection, Brian spotted the bird. After a good look, I headed back for my camera (still in Brian's car near the bridge). Two more birders arrived as I walked back to the car.

: : When I got back and got the camera out, it disappeared again. Yet another pair of birders arrived as we tried to relocate the bird. We were about to give up on photos when the Swainson's Thrushes and some Palm Warblers returned to the Poisonwood. While watching them, the Vireo reappeared. This time I got photos. I've included one sample, for others, follow the link.
