East winds usually mean mediocre migrant land birding in southeast Florida but this
Sunday wasn’t that bad. Nothing very unusual was seen but my notes of species and
numbers of migrants seen during a full day of birding at a few coastal and inland sites in
Broward County may be of interest. Most of my time today was spent at H. T. Birch
State Park and Pine Island Ridge Natural Area north of Treetops Park. Other migrants
seen during the last week in Broward include Blackburnian, Canada, Black-throated
Green, and Magnolia Warblers.
