Sorry for the mix-up, but I'm glad I saw Micky Wheeler's post naming Boot Key as the location for the TBVI! I called Jeff back and he corrected the location he gave me and appologized for the mix-up.

: All,
:
: I just received a call from Jeff Bouton to pass the word that he and Larry Manfredi have found and photographed a Thick-billed Vireo on Stock Island. The directions are not as exact as they would like (and hopefully I took them down correctly!), but here is what Jeff could pass along:
:
: Coming West on US-1 heading for Key West, take a left onto CR-931 (a few names were given for this road by locals, one of those may be Stock Island Dr?). This is shortly after entering Stock Island and you will see a Radio Tower (Jeff added there are often Peregrines on this tower) on the left. After crossing a draw-bridge on CR-931, the TBVI was located 7 poles down (marked as #13). The area is scrub habitat, and they marked the area with some green flagging. The bird was seen earlier farther down the road, so check the area carefully if no birders are still present to point out the bird! ;)
