I did post on it last week along with a list of birds spotted at Green Cay, which has been quite good lately. I don't think I'm 'known' enough on this board and so my posts may not gather very much notice, as it went comment-free. I guess there may not be as many Palm Beach County birders as well, which might also explain it.

Anyway, along with the purple martins, rough-winged swallows, and tree swallows in good abundance, this weekend at Green Cay also had very good raptor activity, with northern harriers, red shouldered hawks, and coopers hawks all easy sightings.

In the small bird department, prairie, palm, and yellow rumped warblers continue in abundance, as do blue-headed vireo and northern parula. White eyed vireo are also present though maybe only one or two, the baltimore oriole seems to be sticking around, common yellowthroats are in good abundance, and a ruby-throated hummingbird was buzzing the cypress canopy trees. Grey catbirds have been reliable in the easternmost tree canopy. Several eastern phoebes continue at the alligator pond.

Sora continue by the dozens - very surprising how many there are. Least and american bitterns both continue to be common sightings. Limpkins are in force now - I counted 5, plus another 2 heard. One sat right on a handrail and didn't move even if you stood right next to him or as joggers passed by. Purple gallinule are in good abundance too - I counted 4 along the backstretch alone.
