After walking every trail available this morning, Julie Appleget and I returned for an afternoon attempt. We joined up with Kathy and Bill Mauck from Luray,VA. At 1:10pm we heard the LA SAGRA'S FLYCATCHER. (We are on the dirt trail that leads off the "circle" near the 1st wooden barricade on the rt.) We finally spotted it actively feeding and we got GREAT views of the bird (perched within 30 ft in perfect light facing us). This was a lifer for all 3 of my partners!! GREAT DAY especially when you meet new BIRDER FRIENDS!

Overall, the park wasn't very birdy, we only had one good flock in the afternoon that held YT VIREO, BLK-THROATED BLUE, BLK & WHT, and N.PARULA AND of course the Gnatcatchers, Cardinals and WE Vireos. A few WHITE-CROWNED PIGEONS were around.
