This crazy bird is all over the park! I had it 3 times this morning. First sighting was 8:05 at a ranger's residence (restricted area), but it quickly moved to the dirt Nature Trail, where Angel saw it. At 9:15 it was along the Nature Trail, 180 yards south of the white gate and in the west Green Buttonwoods. At 9:43 it showed up slightly north of the Youth Camp area and then again at 9:55, it was on the NW edge of this area. Along with its buddy the pale Great Crested Flycatcher, it then moved west toward the mangrove area. Jim Sigsbee found it just north of the harbor last month, so it obviously includes this area in its winter territory.

Wintering birds are becoming more active and easier to see. There are White-eyed, Blue-headed and Yellow-throated Vireos scattered around, as well as 9 warbler species, including 2 Cape Mays. Male Purple Martins were flying above the park this morning.

Bobby from Portland, OR was able to get good looks at the La Sagra's in the camp area, as well as life looks at 2 light-morph Short-tailed Hawks.
