Are you sure about the location of the bridge where you saw these birds? Are you sure of the ID of the female? From early November through yesterday (I haven't seen any reports today), two male Vermilion Flycatchers have been present at the C111 Canal, which is the second-to-last bridge before Everglades National Park; it's about a mile east of the park entrance. At least one of these birds has been seen as far west as Aerojet Road, 0.5 miles east of the park, but this is the first report from the C111W canal, the bridge immediately east of the park entrance, and the first report of a female VEFL in the area.
