Liz Golden, Jim King and I roamed the islands Saturday, hitting Cape Florida, Bear Cut Preserve, Virginia Key and Crandon Beach. Our total was 77 species with some interesting sightings. We had 11 warbler species, with Blackburnian the "best."

Other notable sightings for our count area: Glossy Ibis, adult Broad-winged Hawk, American Kestrel, White-crowned Pigeons, 4 Yellow-billed Cuckoos, large Purple Martin movement, 6 Bank Swallows, Summer Tanager, 352 Bobolinks (very conservative count) and 7 Common Mynas at the marina. An adult Lesser Black-backed Gull is still on Crandon Beach and the Common Terns were AWOL Saturday, of course returning Sunday. We weren't blessed with Dick and Brian's mosquitoes -- ours were slow and stupid, but still annoying.
