Audrey Whitlock and I checked out the Sparrow Fields this morning and spotted 2 White-tailed Kites hunting in the fields about 2/3 of a mile SSW of the Radio Tower. They were spotted with scopes, looking south, from a location of the first bend in the dirt road on the berm overlooking the Sparrow Fields. They were about 400 yards south of the bend. Off-trail and trekking through the weeds, Clay-colored, Savannah, Grasshopper, and White-crowned Sparrows were seen. Other birds are as posted.

Comments: NW/N/NE 5-15 today, cloudy;birding with David Schaffter;walked thru the fields trying to kick up sparrows, slow going but ended up with a few good ones plus the oriole;no snakes;WTKI nice treat but could only see them thru the scope they were so far away
