Hey birders,

Before arriving at Aerojet Rd, 1 male VERMILION FLYCATHER was still at the C-111 canal (feeding along the south side of 9336, NW corner of fence). Around 7:20am 5 SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHERS and 1 WESTERN KINGBIRD was still present at the 9336/Aerojet Rd intersection. (saw them again at 5:10pm) I did not hear or see the ASH-THROATED FLYCATHCER this morning or afternoon however I heard it showed up later in the morning. A LEAST FLYCATCHER was calling just south of the intersection. Also E.Phoebes and G-crested Flycatchers were not to be missed.

David S. joined me and we continued toward THE ANNEX. 2 LINCOLN SPARROWS were very cooperative on the east side of Aerojet, across from the 4th power pole before the sliding yellow gate to THE ANNEX area. I had one in this same area in early January but on the west side of Aerojet.

In THE ANNEX area we did not relocate the BROWN-CRESTED FLYCATCHER but settled for 7 Male INDIGO BUNTINGS and 1 ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER. We left at 10am in what turned out to be an unsuccessful hunt for the BAR-TAILED GODWIT in Flamingo area of Everglades National Park.
