We had the most birders of the season on Wednesday -- 37 -- including a large contingent from the Montreal area. (Bien Venue!) And, while the total species count was down from previous weeks, we had a nice variety of birds. Unfortunately that omits both of our owls as neither made a show.

The C-6 impoundment has slowed down but still contains the large number of Wilson's Snipe that we've had all season. They were joined with a few Lesser Yellowlegs and a few Least Sandpipers. Ducks remain the Blue- and Green- winged Teals and Mottled though a pair of Wood Ducks was spotted further down Lee Road on the way to the boat launch. Waders included the expected Great-Blue, Little Blue, Tricolored, and Black-crowned Herons; and Great, Snowy, and Cattle Egrets.

We did pretty well with little birds including Palm, Prairie, Pine, Yellow-rumped, and Black & White Warblers; Northern Parula, Common Yellowthroat, and Blue-headed Vireo.
