Visiting NC birding friends Jeff Lewis and Joan Kukulis found a La Sagra's Flycatcher on 17 January in Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical SP. He was unable to review his photos until returning to NC yesterday. Perhaps it's the same one seen on 21 December 2011 and reported on 28 December.
Here is Jeff's description of location:
"It was down the short unpaved nature trail as follows: second left off paved road (past the circle), next left as well, then on the back side right where there is a sign that says "stay on the trail" (at the back of the loop near the water). I pished softly and the bird flew in within 10 feet of us, at about eye level or just above, but directly in the sun. I was holding my camera so I got one quick shot of it before it flew. I never saw it again."
