At about 12 noon today, Wednesday, September 8, 2004, Miami birders, Kevin Sarsfield and Juan Villamil, located a single Hudsodian Godwit (Limosa haemastica) about 150 yards out in a sod farm along US 27 in Palm Beach County. The sod farm is the last farm on the east side of US 27 across the canal and about one mile south of SR 827. The farm is near a Quonset and is directly across US 27 from Okeelanta Sugar's processing plant. The bird appears to be molting from summer to winter plumage or is a possible immature, has a darkish breast giving it a vested look, has a grayish belly, upturned bill and white supercilium. Sorry I did not get the post out earlier but I am 5 weeks behind at work. Good luck! Please crosspost to other websites and could somebody call Bob Wallace in Alachua, Florida to let him know. Life is good............knowing I already have seen this rare migrant in Zellwood with Charlie Buhrman and a harem of St. Pete birders many mango seasons ago.
