Ovenbirds are common during migration, and
they also winter in large numbers. We always have one in the Gifford Arboretum on the University of Miami campus and on the Doc Thomas grounds in South Miami each year.
I am curious about where you got your information since it is clearly inaccurate.

: From what I've read, the Ovenbird in not commonly seen here. My father saw one in our backyard maybe 6 years ago, but Saturday morning during Hurricane Frances, we saw one walking in the leaf litter in the back yard.
