Heyy birders! Today I had 7 species of warblers and a very nice Least Flycatcher. The warblers I saw were the following:
Northern Parula
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Yellow-throated Warbler
American Redstart
Worm-eating Warbler
Ovenbird
The Least Flycatcher was in a low bamboo branch in my neighborhood. I saw it for about 5 seconds and was able to id it because of the size, and the prodominant white eye-ring. It shocked me because its the first empidomax species I have seen in my life and its a great one to start with. Other birds seen were plenty barn swallows, some chimney swifts, 3 Brown Thrashers and some Laughing Gulls. Also want to say that I was accepted to the National Hispanic Enviromental Council institute from September 10 to the 19th. I will be going to New Mexico. Im hoping for many lifers. Well I cant wait to bird tommorow. Great birding for everybody.
