Debbie and I had a Virginia Rail today at Green Cay. It was at the north end of the boardwalk about 50 feet east of the covered gazebo thing. There were also numerous Soras. We also had a male and a female Baltimore Oriole on the "chickee island" at the northeast corner of the park. They were feeding in the ficus trees north of the chickee itself. Other birds of interest were 3 Gadwalls (1 male & 2 females) and a female American Wigeon, American Bittern, Purple Gallinule, Northern Harrier, Painted Bunting, and Yellow-throated Warbler.
