I was down at Flamingo on Sunday and walked as far past Flamingo through the campgrounds as possible. There were many wading and shore birds in large flocks (lots of Marbled Godwits) and White Pelicans(nothing unusual though). When I saw the post I wondered why I didn't see the flamingos after looking at a map.....now I know, thanks for the explanation Brian.
One area that was really active was Mrazek Pond, where LOTS of Herons, Egrets, Spoonbills, Shovelers and others were very actively feeding in the lake right next to the road. It caused a mini traffic jam!
