As it waits to "grow up". Wakodahatchee has large numbers of juvenile purple gallinules, moorhens and a few coots. The purple gallinules are the main show, climbing high into the alligator flag to feed on seeds. Warblers are still very few. Red-shouldered hawk is heard. But still, it is a pleasant morning or late evening walk with good sightings of the unusual cast of characters. Consider taking Wakodahatchee at 5:00 PM and then move to Loxahatchee for the sunset.
