Last Thursday and this morning, I was dropped off by my mom 30 minutes before school starts to do some birding. Between the two days of birding there, I found a good amount of birds:

Yellow-crowned Night-heron- 3

Green Heron- 1 juvenile

Osprey- I'm assuming most of them are migrants

White-winged Dove- if some of you may recall, I was somewhat excited when a pair showed up a little over a year ago in Morningside. Now, they are very easily seen in small flocks.

Yellow-chevroned, White-winged, and White-eyed Parakeets- large amounts of White-winged (~20), a few Yellow-chevroneds, and 7 White-eyed Parakeets. They White-eyeds, of course, did not associate with the YCs and WWs.

Blue-gray Gnatcatcher- 50-60 altogether; good sized, high-flying flocks of them can be seen and heard as they fly over the park
and neighborhood. One flock consisted of 23 birds, with other flocks nearby. They were flying at 200-300 feet, heading south.

Barn Swallow- 3 good flights last week, and a good sized flight today.

Barn Swallow- 2

Black-and-white Warbler- ~3 last week, and 2 today

Prairie Warbler- a couple last week, and 1 today

American Redstart- most numerous warbler, especially today. All where females or juveniles

Northern Waterthrush- 1 last week, and 1 today

Ovenbird- 1

Spot-breasted Oriole- 7! most I have ever seen at one time, 4 were sub-adults.
