Miami Christmas Bird Count Results

Thirty-six birders participated in the 42nd annual Miami Christmas Bird Count on Saturday, December 17. A total of 128 species were seen, including two new species for this count: White-winged Scoter and Lark Sparrow (the scoter can only be submitted, though, if documentation is provided). New high counts were obtained for the following species: Egyptian Goose, Swan Goose, Common Loon, Horned Grebe, Double-crested Cormorant, White Ibis, Short-tailed Hawk, Lesser Black-backed Gull, Great Black-backed Gull, Blue-crowned Parakeet, Crimson-fronted Parakeet, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Loggerhead Shrike, Yellow-throated Vireo, Northern Parula, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Black-and-white Warbler and Bronzed Cowbird.
