The C6 impoundment continues as the center of attention this week. Today's "Where's Waldo" photo includes Glossy Ibis, Blue-winged Teal, Green-winged Teal, Wilson's Snipe, Snowy Egret, Roseate Spoonbill, and Least Sandpiper. Bet you can't find them all!

We moved from C6 to the Visitor's Center where there were loads of birds -- unlike the past few weeks. They included Palm, Pine, and Yellow-rumped Warblers; White-eyed and Blue-headed Vireos; Red-bellied, Yellow-bellied, and Pileated Woodpeckers; Carolina Wren; and Northern Rough-winged Swallows overheard.

After returning to the Marsh Trail parking lot to get our scopes, we circumnavigated C6 to get better views of the waders, shore birds, and ducks. The half dozen (or so) Snowies had grown to over a dozen. I hope that's a harbinger for the species in general as we saw very few last year. When we got back out to the main road (where we hoped to get more warblers, vireos, etc.), we ran into the lawn mower. This didn't help our cause but after he passed we did find a flurry of little birds which were mainly Yellow-rumps (Myrtle).

For what seemed like a fairly slow day, we ended up with 54 species so that's not bad.
