Painted Bunting feeding on nectar

I noted a Painted Bunting this a.m. picking multiple 3 inch Coral Honeysuckle Vine blooms. One bloom is bright orange and trumpet shaped. It picks it at the base and takes the nectar then drops the bloom before going on to the next. The bloom seems so large for this relatively small bird. I have noted the same feeding behavior in the past with the Firespike plant which has much smaller flowers. Interesting to see!
