I saw a Loon pretty close around 10am at the same location...it was a Common Loon. While I was taking photos a manatee surfaced right in front of me just off the beach. It totally surprised me as I was completely focused on the Loon. My commotion caused the Loon to head out to where you spotted it so I sat and watched the 2 manatees for about an hour. During that time the Godwit flew in with its Willet and Yellowlegs posse just to the left of where I was sitting. The group rested and sat on the beach at the waterline. I didn't disturb them and they were still there when I left.
