The "short-billed" Long-billed Curlew was seen at Bunche Beach, in Ft. Myers. Park and turn left at the shore. The bird was feeding among many other shorebirds, including at least three Red Knots. At least four Horned Grebes and five Common Loons were feeding just offshore, sometimes alongside the shorebirds.

A group of Snowy Plovers were located on Ft. Meyers beach, as well as an American Oystercatcher on the way back to the mainland.

In Hendry County, there were kingbirds along County Road 835. Heading east away from the intersection with County Road 833, CR-835 curves north. The Cassin's and even a Gray Kingbird were seen and photographed just several hundred feet of this curve, in front of property at 26882 CR-835. Look for a small wooden sign on the right with red writing on the east side of the road. Just north of these birds were two Western Kingbirds, and two Snail Kites were feeding along the irrigation ditch on the west side of the road.

As the kingbird flies, the Cassin's Kingbird along CR-835 is only about two miles from STA-5, where one to two have wintered for several years now. Either this is one of those individuals, or there is a massive kingbird roost in the area harboring several Cassin's Kingbirds.
