I went by the rock pit on s.w. 107 ave. looking from the T-intersection at s.w. 268 st. I was able to find 16 Horned Grebes and 30 Red-breasted Mergansers. This is the largest number of Horned Grebes that I have seen in one place in Miami-Dade County. I was there about 3:30 p.m. perhaps the birds came in later then when Hans went by.
