jogging in the buffer zone off of Johnson St, my beagle and I flushed 5 snipe, saw 2 downy woodpeckers, lots of palm warblers, a few ground doves, and most interesting, a broad-winged hawk flew up out of some brush into a tree and let us get pretty close before gliding down into the brush again. I was struck by its smallish size, and stocky body.
