The total number of exotic psittacids reported in Florida is 82, with 49 of these documented by photographs and the remaining 34 representing sight reports (some of which doubtless were misidentified).
About 19 species are presently breeding in Florida but the Budgerigar is limited to west-central Florida. So roughly 18 species of psittacids are breeding in southern Florida, in numbers ranging from a few pairs to hundreds of pairs.
It would be interesting to see how many psittacids could be observed in Florida in one day; with quite a bit of luck somebody might be able to hit 20 species.
