I guess timing is everything. I stopped by that spot at about 2:00pm this afternoon and played an Ash-throated Flycatcher recording. A Myiarchis that I identified as a Great Crested Flycatcher popped out of the hammock; it did not vocalize. I also failed to find any Scissor-tailed Flycatchers while I was there.
On a more positive note, the two Vermilion Flycatchers are still conspicuous, one one each side of the road at the C-111 Canal.
