Met a friend in Hialeah for some birding at Amelia Earhart Park, a place we had never been to. The place has plenty of lakes and open areas and some pine trees (mostly Australian Pine I believe). Not many passerines: Palm and Black-and-white Warblers and a Loggerhead Shrike. Water birds were more frequent: Muscovy, Coots, Pied-billed Grebe, DC Cormorants, many Ring-billed Gulls, Osprey, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets and Belted Kingfisher. Turkey Vultures were abundant, many even perched on the picnic tables.

Later headed to Kendall Indian Hammocks. Several raptors: Kestrel, light Short-tailed Hawk (also had 2 more Short-tailed Hawks just driving around today, both light), Cooper's Hawk, and a Sharp-shinned Hawk which dived into a bush after a lucky Palm Warbler which made its escape on the other side of the bush. Also had RT Hummingbirds, Monk Parakeets, many BG Gnatcatchers, Yellow-rumped, Prairie, Black-and-white and Palm Warblers and my FOS Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
