The main hammock usually not the best place for seeing lots of birds. It is OK during migration for thrushes, cuckoos and other more "forest birds" but the oak groves just east of the baseball fields, the area near the garbage dump, the very SE corner of the park and the western edge of the main hammock where it borders the fenced "cemetery" are the best places and where I see most variety of birds.
