Carlos and I saw the Cimmanom Teal this morning in the same area as reported, but quite a ways away. It was to the east of the boardwalk that goes north-south between two hammocks. There was a small flock of Blue-winged Teal and a bunch of Coots in the same area. I took some shots at 300mm that obviously aren't very good, but they do serve as ID shots. The link below has one of the "better" photos. There's also a photo of the White-winged Scoter from Merritt Island earlier this week. This was a digiscope shot since the bird was far out in one of the ponds, but it was taken using my 70-300 mm lens held up to my rickety spotting scope. It was surprising the bird came out at all!
The teal was a state bird for me. Libations are in order, just a little later.
