Hoechoka Hammock: Bobcat is back

Last evening patrol (6:30) spotlighted one bobcat that was reasonably quiet and sat and groomed for five minutes in the light. Cajunspice where are you when I need a camera with flash? Cottontail rabbit was also out and the cormorants and anhinga numbers are increasing. And the Roehn duck and Pekin duck numbers are decreasing. (The bobcat takes the 5th) Mottled duck numbers still stable but probably will diminish come duck hunting season.

For those not familiar with HH, it is in the middle of Parkland, about 100 yards from City Hall. We are not talking about the deep woods here. And reports of coyote sightings come in daily. Usually they are around the "horse-people" houses and barns.
