I saw three grey kingbirds perched on telephone wire at the intersection 20th St and Biscayne Blvd this morning when running at about 06:30 am. Isn´t that late for the season?
At Key Biscayne (Bill Baggs) Monday morning I spotted a plover on the beach just beneath the lighthouse. The bird was extremely long-legged and had a prominent white eyebrow, brownish plumage above and thinner bill than a regular grey (black-belied) plover. I was not able to see the armpits, and I just had binocs, no telescope. I would be grateful if somebody had the opportunity to check it out. It never called. I am just here for a couple of days, and tomorrow I am heading back to Sweden. I am aware you all will dismiss this as a black-bellied, given the place and time and the odds, but it really looked more like an American golden plover. Sorry for the late posting, but I have been so busy.
