I shoot with Canon... Toe with Nikon, Larry M. Nikon... just about everyone else Canon, though Nikon is gaining popularity for wildlife.
This is all outside the pump area... you can however walk across the canal on the dam and get to the back side of the pump area fence and walk along the levy.
Getting close to the birds is relative.. I was not disturbing the birds or other birders because I was by myself and I let the bird come to me.
