The informal, on and off-line survey of buntings produced the following toally non-scientific result but one of some interest at least to me:

Buntings seen on or about October 31 between Davie and Green Cay at 10 reporting sites

Male: 16, three in color transition
Female: 29
Indigo..........not requested but 14 in numbers.

Most reports indicate the birds are returning frequently to the feeders and the indigos are mixing in with the painted. Given the spread between Davie and Green Cay and the results shown by "feed lot" buntings it seems we can conclude that there are quite a few in the area and many are not moving south.

Half the reports indicated that the numbers were increasing weekly suggesting that there are still PBs moving into the area from north. No one reported any sign of bands.

Thank you one and all for participating
