Part of the flock seen yesterday at the Cape was probably what I saw at Matheson this morning. While Brian only had a few BTB's yesterday, this morning there were over 100 warblers between the north parking lot and the bathrooms. Most of course were BTB's, but I had 8 other species, with the best being a Bay-breasted. Also seen were Baltimore Oriole and Yellow-throated Vireo (will it winter?). Angel had mentioned that flocks will frequently land on the Cape, and after a few hours move inland. Matheson is directly inland from the Cape, so this might have been part of yesterday's flock. Problem is there is so much more habitat along the coast, that a concentrated flock at the Cape will disperse on the coast and the density won't seem as high. Still, it was nice to see this flock so late in migration.
But, I refuse to call it a fallout! No, no way, never, nope.....la la la la. I'm not listening.
