Several of us saw it shortly after 5PM as well. While viewing it slowing swimming to the west several police cars pulled up. Thankfully they kept their sirens off and we explained the bird and our intent. Evidently they keep a pretty close eye on the areas around Homestead Air Reserve Base. We told them it was on the local bird board and to expect other visitors. One of them even pulled out his own binoculars, so maybe we did some good too!
