Kudos to Russ Titus for finding this beautiful and quite sociable "Magnolia Warbler on steroids" (Judd Pesold's excellent description).Smith (Cajunspice),Jim & Holly Salvato-I think- and I were the first ones at Richardson Park in Wilton Manors this morning and once the birds woke up, it wasn't long before Holly spotted the bird. Russ Titus showed up, then Scott Scheinhaus and Judd Pesold soon followed and the trail of birders began. Hadn't seen Russ and Judd in many mango seasons. What a great birding community South Florida has. Many thanks to Angel & Mariel for getting the word out yesterday and today. A lifebird and Florida bird #428 - the celebratory libations will be hoisted tomorrow morning at David Irving's going away party at Lucky Hammock. Life is good............ especially if my son, Nick, sees the bird this afternoon, after I pick him up at MIA.
