My wife, son and a few Tropical Audubon members saw the Bell's Vireo this morning. I was able
to get photos and a recording of its scold note. It is in the area described by eagle eye C.J.
Grimes in a previous post. Also present was a Summer Tanager (heard well, not seen), a
Yellow-breasted Chat seen by me but heard by the others. Half a dozen American Pipits, two
Sandhill Cranes in the field on the west side of the road. The Cranes are very uncommon to rare
in our area, a nice treat. A Limpkin was seen before we arrived as well as a couple of Least
Flycatchers.

The location of these birds was off the main road going into Everglades National Park. About a mile
before you enter the park there is a road going south or left, look for a sign for a Youth Camp. Turn
left here and go a couple of hundred yards. Look for a Hammock on your right. Park on the south
end of the Hammock, there is a dirt road going left through a brushy area. The Bell's Vireo was
seen on the south side of the dirt road in the grassy brushy area. This is next to a plowed field. Also
in the same area was the Yellow-breasted Chat, another of our wintering warblers no doubt.
