I actually joked with Carlos yesterday that you hadn't been happy in exactly seven years until now.
It was at Royal Palm on October 16, 2004 that I actually met you, Toe. You were with another birder, and I believe you reported a Western Tanager in ENP. We found our own the next day at A.D. Barnes (I believe John Boyd initially found it).
By the species lists alone, this October's fallout is more impressive than in '04. As far as I can remember, no one party managed to get to 20 species of warblers in one day (I fell short on 10/16/04 with 19 species).
The amount of Bay-breasted Warblers alone this time around is the most impressive, in my opinion.
I've always felt that October 12-18 is the window of time that the species passes through South Florida in the highest volume. And here they are.
Enjoy it, people! I mean Toe's contentment, as well as the birds.
