Ditto Cape Florida. Here in Parkland at Hoechoka Hammock the 24 acres is shaking with warblers and catbirds by the score. Hooded warblers, pine, palm, many many Black and Whites, and several species I just couldn't identify. The rain is not bothering them a bit. I never saw as many warblers at this site since we developed it beginning in 1996. AND....they all seem to be moving southward in general at a steady but slow speed. The catbirds are all over the seeds on the Gumbo Limbo as well as the many lancewood and fiddlewood that are in seed now. The Beauty berry are totally seedless in just two days. All the bird baths have warblers drinking and some bathing but not much as the intermittent rain keeps them wet enough. The hooded warbler was a real treat...how do TAS'ers say it "a lifer?" Photographers just say "good shot."
Hang on Toe. Should be down your way by late afternoon. And by the way check out what is going on down at the Isle of Pines.
