I saw the Black-throated Gray Warbler today at Matheson Hammock Park. I
had it about 10:30 a.m. about 100 feet south of the bathrooms feeding in
the Oaks. I also saw a Nashville Warbler across Old Cutler on the
Nature Trail road. Park in the south parking lot on the north end of
Fairchild Tropical Gardens. Cross Old Cutler here and look for the dirt
road going through the Hammock. It was about 75 yards down the road,
look for a large rusty pipe that comes above ground on the right side.
The bird was feeding in the trees in this area.

I also birded in Miami Springs and Kendall in search of parakeets and
parrots. I saw the following species:

Monk Parakeet
Mitred Parakeet
Orange-fronted Parakeet
Green Parakeet
Dusky-headed Parakeet
Yellow-chevroned Parakeet
White-winged Parakeet
Blue-crowned Parakeet
Orange-winged Parrot
White-fronted Parrot
one unidentified parakeet

Maybe I should attempt a "Big Parrot and Parakeet day." I know that it
would be possible to add these other species.

Red-masked Parakeet
Black-hooded Parakeet
Lilac-crowned Parrot
Red-crowned Parrot

If I drove up to the Ft. Lauderdale area, I could add a few more
species.
