I wouldn't give up on the YGVI just yet. Based on what's been posted, I had the 2nd-last sighting on Tuesday morning before 8am, and Jim Sigsbee posted his sighting on Wednesday.

This bird can be difficult to see; I tried multiple days without success, and I shared that experience with quite a few others. What finally worked for me was, as soon as it's light enough to see, stand well back from the tree-- east of the tree for best light--and watch the top of the tree where the vireos were coming in. I know others have seen it while sitting under the tree at the picnic table, so there's more than one way to tackle this. If you can't be lucky, be persistent!
