The Florida Keys Hawkwatch is just kicking into gear this season. Please plan to join us this weekend at Curry Hammock State Park, mile marker 56 on the Overseas Highway. We will be expecting you this weekend. The hawkwatch has experienced an exciting make-over, with new interpretive signage and a coalition of supporting organizations spearheaded by TAS.

We've had excellent diversity this season, with all possible Buteos already having shown up, and both kite species still being seen. The Peregrine Falcon shows have not been disappointing. We tallied 393 on Oct 2, and are continually experiencing them close to 100; 74 for today.

Anyone planning on coming down as part of Tropical Audubon's get-together at the site this Saturday Oct 8 will have a chance to participate in our banding efforts. Please visit the Florida Keys Hawkwatch website below for more information or contact me directly to make arrangements.

Don't forget, this important monitoring project is made possible in great part to the support of Tropical Audubon Society. Be a part of it this weekend!
