Several years ago I went to the north side of A.D. Barnes park in search of Pine Warbler to add to my day's list, and found Blue-winged Warbler instead (rats!). Today I stopped at Matheson Hammock to look for Blue-winged Warbler, and found a Yellow-green Vireo instead. I S*U*C*K! I can't never get it right.

The Vireo was in the hammock directly west of the stone shelter. Park in the north parking lot after turnin at the light and walk south through the oak grove and towards the hammock. Look for a small palm just behind a larger tree. There are three gumbo limbos just north of the palm at the edge of the hammock. The vireo first came to one of these when I pished. There are also a bunch of Red-eyeds around, but the Yellow-green will stand out like, well, like a Yellow-green among a bunch of Red-eyeds. Larry came and played the call and the bird came in right away. Good luck to all.
